ABOUT ME

Personal Mission: Impact lives positively through my actions.

I began as a mechanical engineer. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to lead a team working on something that, at the time, felt almost unexplored—bringing the entire design and development of high-pressure industrial boilers into an automated workflow. We were not simply improving the way things were done; much of the time, we were discovering what could be done. Looking back, it remains one of the most remarkable experiences of my professional life.

Japan:

In 1997, my work brought me to Japan. What began as an assignment became a relationship with the country that has continued through much of my professional life. Moving between Japan and India meant working across different languages, cultures, expectations, and ways of making decisions. The same situation did not always look the same from both sides.

From technology to leadership:

My work expanded from developing technology to leading delivery, shaping solutions, building strategic client relationships, and growing business.
Each role placed me in a different part of the same world—sometimes close to the technology, sometimes to execution, customers, people, or business. Naturally, each gave me a different perspective.

Today, as Sales Director at HCLTech Japan, I remain close to the everyday realities of business—customers, growth, technology, people, decisions, and change.

What experience teaches:

Experience has given me patterns to recognize, judgments to make, and the confidence to act. But it has also brought moments that did not fit those patterns. A customer surprised me. A decision that seemed obvious looked different when the situation changed. A person revealed something I had missed because I had already formed a view.

Somewhere within those moments, a tension remained: What I already knew helped me understand what was in front of me, but it could also prevent me from seeing something new.

That left me with a question I could not easily put aside: Can we encounter what is before what we know has already defined it?

That question sits at the heart of what I now call See Before Knowing.

Encounter what is already fully here before seeking to know, grow, change, or improve it.

It is not about knowing less. I have spent my professional life learning, applying knowledge, and relying on experience. But I have also seen what can happen when what we already know becomes the boundary of what we are able to encounter.

AI and human possibility:

AI makes this question harder to ignore. Knowledge that once took time to acquire can now appear in seconds. Analysis can be generated almost instantly. Capabilities we once assumed belonged largely to us are increasingly shared with machines.

I don’t see this as making human possibility smaller. It makes the question larger: when knowledge becomes abundant, what happens to judgment, intuition, responsibility—and our capacity to encounter what neither we nor the machine has already defined?

Alongside my professional work, I write and explore these questions through See Before Knowing, The Unwaiting Life, The Human Premium, and a wider inquiry into human possibility.

They are not separate from my work or my life. They are part of the same inquiry into how we meet what is before us, how we respond, and what our actions make possible for others.
